Programme Overview

The Master of Applied Psychology for graduates with a psychology major who are looking for systematic training in the latest advances in assessment and practice methods applicable in various professional psychology settings.

The programme aims to provide a well-balanced foundation in functional competencies in areas of assessment, intervention and research. Over the study period, a solid identity as an applied psychologist with skills and knowledge in an academic/ professional concentration will be built up.

Study Mode

This programme is delivered via a state-of-the-art online learning platform. 

An integration of e-delivery tools allow students to access course materials, research libraries, discussion forums, course calendar, chat rooms, assignment submissions, course announcements and student grade book.

Assessment Method

Assessment for the UITM Master of Applied Psychology program for all courses will be 100% by coursework.

All assignments will consist of a mini research on topic given by the lecturer.

  • The assignments will be presented in the form of a business report of 2,000 (+/-10%) words on a real world organisation.

  • Each assignment will be accompanied by a comprehensive assessment rubric (marking criteria)

  • Assessment of the Dissertation unit rests solely on the Dissertation report, which must not exceed 10,000 words (excluding appendices and bibliography). You are expected to seek guidance from your supervisor by meeting as required during the term. This is important to ensure a satisfactory progress in your Dissertation to achieve the assessment requirements. The Dissertation will be assessed independently by the supervisor and at least one other member of staff. 

Entry Requirements

Applicants should either posses:​

  1. Undergraduate degree from an internationally recognized academic institution or possess a recognized Diploma with at least 2 years working experience and be at least 22 years old, OR; 

  2. Minimum 3 years of work experience in middle management (or equivalent, respective to the profession) . Proficiency in English
